Crime in Billings has decreased in recent years but we still have much higher rates of crime compared to similarly-sized communities. Dr Mark supports learning what other communities are doing to stop crime before it happens and seeing whether we can do those those things in Billings.
The shortage of affordable housing in Billings is a strain on household budgets and a threat to economic development. It also contributes to homelessness. Dr Mark supports accelerating the development of affordable housing.
Billings needs streets that work for everyone, whether they are driving a vehicle, peddling a bike, riding the bus, rolling a wheelchair, pushing a child’s stroller or walking a dog. Dr Mark supports an “all of the above” approach to our city streets.
